Colonial office.
Mr Calder.
We frequently arrange for the re-verification of
weights and measures, These are sent direct to us by the
Colonial Government concerned. On receipt in this office
firms are invited to inspect them and afterwards quote for
the necessary re-conditioning, including Standards Dept.
fees for re-verification and the cost of repacking and
delivery f.o.b. We suggest this course should be adopted
by Hong Kong.
Without knowing the extent of re-conditioning
required it is not possible to give a reliable estimate,
but if only a nominal amount of work is required to be
done on the standards, the cost might be, say £30 or £40,
to which should be added the Standards Dept. verification
fees, as given in their letter of March 15th, 1932.
